Yesterday is one of the best days in the Lauder Admissions office because it is one of the two times each year we admit Lauder candidates into the program, and we get to personally deliver the news! Marcy Bevan and I were at the office extra early to begin calling and congratulating our accepted Round 1 Lauderites. The day was the joyous culmination of lots of hard work, by both candidates and the Admissions team, and we could not be more thrilled to welcome the new group into the Lauder family. It was an amazing experience to learn about each of you through the admissions process, and we can’t wait to meet many of you in-person during the upcoming Winter Welcome Weekend. During Welcome Weekend, in addition to the Wharton events, new Lauder admits will have the chance to join Lauder classes, have breakfast with the Lauder community, and participate in several student-led activities.
The current Lauder students are equally excited to welcome their new classmates. Admitted students can expect a call from a current Lauder student within a few days, and current students will also be planning several events, just for Lauder, during Welcome Weekend, including a dinner and the beloved ‘Around the World Party’. Get ready for an amazing time!
However, while yesterday brings good news to many, one of the hardest parts about the day is that we are not able to extend offers to all of our candidates. We thank you for the time and effort you put into your application and the admissions process, and we hope that the experience was valuable for you. If you decide it is the right path for you, Wharton and Lauder welcome reapplications and many reapplicants are successful each year.
Again, a huge congratulations to the Class of 2016! The countdown to May 5, 2014 begin!
